What to expect when shipping from Poland to the US by post.
The Polish postal system is very efficient in delivering letters and packages to the United States. With very few exceptions, packages normally leave Poland, by air, the day after they are received from the sender.
Tracking numbers are immediately assigned and the package can be tracked at
Once the packages reach the US, they experience the delays common to the US postal system. Delivery times expected are 11 to 21 days from the time they leave Poland. Note that this estimate is published by Amazon.
It is reported by Polish shippers that sometimes delivery is made in as little as 5 days.
The US postal system is slow to update tracking information. Often a packages receipt ín New York is not indicated in the tracking system for two weeks and more. When one tracks his package during that period is that the package left Poland.
It is because of the delays that Amazon estimates 11 to 21 days.
If you are tracking a purchase, if the tracking system says that the product left Poland, it is probably in the New York facility and that facility has not entered tracking information. You should wait.
The shipper cannot do anything about it. The shipper has no control over either the US Postal service or the New York handling facility.
Despite our comments about delays, most packages are delivered within the 21 day time period. As stated above, delivery is made sometimes after 5 days.
As you watch the tracking, suddenly it will be entered in the US system and you get delivery.
If you do not receive your package within 21 days, contact your seller.
Additional Important Note
Many buyers do not check with their local post offices. MANY times packages get to the local post office and are not delivered to the delivery address. They end up getting returned to Poland.
CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL POST OFFICE.
